Inderprastha Engineering College (IPEC) is one of the well-known private engineering colleges. Located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, it was established in the year 2000 under the support of Shail Garg Shiksha Sansthan. Earlier, it was addressed as the National Institute of Engineering and Technology. It has a lush green campus which is spread over an expanse of 7.81 acres. It has about 70+ lecture rooms, 14 seminar rooms along with 2 conference rooms. Also, it has well-equipped computer labs and a library. The institute offers a diverse range of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses in the disciplines such as information technology (IT), electronics and communication engineering (ECE), electrical and electronics (EN), computer science and engineering (CSE), mechanical engineering (ME) and civil engineering (CE). Even Masters of Technology (MTech) is offered in CSE, ME and ECE.

The institution is affiliated to well-known Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow. Further, it is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Even the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the college. Inderprastha Engineering College is an institution that was ranked among the top 10 colleges of Dr APJAKTU. In the year 2013, it has even received the "Best Education Award" by the International Institute of Education and Management.

Indraprastha Engineering College Admission Process

In IPEC, admissions are granted on 85% seats through counselling and 15% through management quota. However, it is important to note that admission under the Management Quota is subject to the norms set by Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) & State Government. There are several documents that are required during the process of admission. Candidates can refer to the list of documents given on the official website of the institution. They can even refer to the course-wise fee structure provided on the portal. Even the information on the hostel fee can be accessed from there. Before applying to any undergraduate or postgraduate program in the college, students are advised to ensure their eligibility through the eligibility criteria given on the college's website.

IPEC BTech Minimum Eligibility 2018

• Admissions to the 4 year BTech programmes are accepted on the basis of the guidelines as set by the directorate of admissions, IPEC.
• The candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University without grace in each compulsory subject i.e. Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject as chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject securing minimum 45% (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate in required three subjects.

Through Direct Admission Under Management Quota

15% of the total intake available will be filled by institute as per the laid down norms of UPSEE 2018 and State Government.

Admission to Kashmiri migrants in first year

• Direct admission to Kashmiri Migrants in first year in each institute is to be made as per the latest instructions of AICTE and orders from U.P. Govt.
• Such admissions will be over and above the sanctioned intake and normally limited up to one admission per Institute affiliated to Dr. APJ AKTU, Lucknow.
• The detailed information will be published in various newspapers and University website. The candidates, opting for admission under this scheme, need not appear in UPSEE-2018.

Modes of Admission and Eligibility Criteria for Admission to BTech IInd Year (Lateral Entry)

Through UPSEE 2018

• 20% of the total sanctioned intake available in institute for different courses at first year level.

Eligibility to Appear in UPSEE 2018 for Admission to IInd year of B.Tech (Lateral Entry)

• Candidates who have passed three years Engineering Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) or
• Candidates whose parents (Father or Mother) are domicile of Uttar Pradesh and he/she have passed three years Engineering Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P. in any branch of Engineering (Except Agriculture Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture) are eligible for admission to Second year in any Branch of Engineering/Technology.
• Candidates who have passed three years BSc degree and Passed XII standard with Mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognized University, securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate.

NOTE-No Direct Admissions are permissible in Second Year (Lateral Entry)

IPEC BTech Admissions and Selection Process 2018

Admissions will be made on the basis of the candidate’s score in the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE). UPSEE is conducted by Uttar Pradesh State Technical University (UPTU) to offer admissions to aspirants in professional courses which are available at the university along with institutes that are affiliated to the University. 

UPSEE is a state level entrance exam, appearing which the candidates can secure admission to the UPTU affiliated government aided as well as private unaided institutes in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Process for UPSEE 2018 exam for Admission to Ist year of BTech

• 85% of the total intake available in the Institute in the BTech programmes will be filled by the candidates who will be allotted seats through UPSEE 2018 counselling.
• 75% seats to be filled by the candidates who have clearly passed intermediate examination from U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized board / university or whose parents are Domicile of UP.
• 10% seats to be filled by candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an Institution located outside U.P. and whose parents are not domicile of U.P. on the basis of JEE-Main-2018 or through UPSEE.

UPSEE Counselling

• Allotment of seats is determined by the University on the basis of the ranks of the candidates and the merit list. This process is conducted at the time of counselling.
• Candidates belonging to the general category and OBC have to pay registration fee of Rs.20,000 while those belonging to SC and ST have to pay Rs.12, 000

Vacant Seats After Counselling of UPSEE 2018

• The vacant seats after counselling of UPSEE 2018 shall be filled by the Institute as per the prescribed norms of UPSEE 2018 and the UP State Government.

Admission to Fee Waiver seats for Economically Weaker Meritorious Students.

• As per AICTE notification, Fee Waiver seats for economically weaker meritorious candidates are also available in BTech.
• The fee waiver seats will be limited to maximum of 5% of the sanctioned intake in the course and will be over and above of the sanctioned intake.
• No tuition fee will be charged from such candidates admitted against such seats.
• The economically weaker students must submit certificate no. 12 (Income Certificate) at the time of verification of documents in counselling.
• These seats are allotted through UPSEE counselling.

IPEC BTech Application Process 2018

The application process for admissions in the 4 year BTech programmes at IPEC includes:

• The filling of application process
• Uploading the signature and photograph.
• Final submission of the duly filled application form along with the application fee.

UPSEE 2018 Application Process

Interested candidates can fill the application form for UPSEE either online or through the offline mode, whichever means suits them best.

In order to successfully fill the UPSEE application form online, candidates need to fill the below mentioned fields with utmost care:

Personal Details

• Candidates need to fill in details such as their full name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name, and personal mobile number, email ID etc.
• Candidates are advised to go through all the information that they have provided thoroughly before submitting the application form.

Note: From 2017, Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for UPSEE. 

Examination Fee

Candidates need to pay the UPSEE exam fee either through credit/debit card or through a bank challan. The examination fee for UPSEE 2018 is given below.

Scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression

• The Candidates need to attach their clear scanned image in the application form.
• The image should be colored and in passport size (3.5cm X 4.5cm).
• The image should be in JPEG Format with a maximum size of 20 KB.
• The photograph must be front facing to the camera in a manner that the candidate’s full face can be seen.
• The background should be either white or off-white and uncluttered.
• Apart from this, the candidate must attach a clear scanned image of their signature (3.5cm X 1.5cm) in JPEG format with the signature image size being not more than10 KB. Similarly, the left thumb impression should also be in JPEG format and its dimensions should be 3.5cm X 1.5cm, this scanned image should not be more than 10 KB in size.

Candidates will be given a registration number when they submit their application form. They are advised to note down the registration number issued to them because this will be used for all future correspondences. The candidates also need to take a print-out of the confirmation page that appears before them.

UPSEE 2018 Offline Application Form

• Candidates are also given the option to fill their application form for UPSEE offline. Candidates can purchase their application form absolutely free of cost from any designated help desk.
• In the application form, candidates need to fill their personal details such as their date of birth, email ID and mobile number.
• The mobile number/e-mail ID of the candidate will be used by UPSEE 2018 officials for future correspondence/ communication with the candidate along different stages of the exam process.
• After paying the exam fee, candidates need to submit their photograph, thumb impression and signature to the help desk. On completion of this step, they will be given three copies of the confirmation page from the help desk.
• The confirmation page will contain a registration number which candidates need to use for all future correspondences.
• After this, candidates need to post the duly signed copy of the confirmation page along with copy of bank challan through speed post/registered post at the below mentioned address:
