Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’.
The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.

The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will soon release the JMI answer key 2023 for various UG and PG programmes. The University is conducting the JMI admission test 2023 from April 15 to May 21. The JMI entrance exam is being conducted in offline mode. Candidates have to fill out and submit the JMI application form before the deadline. Candidates who pass the JMI entrance test in 2023 are enrolled in a variety of UG and PG programmes provided by the various arts, science, and commerce streams. The JMI admission for 10 UG courses such as BA Hons History, BVoc Solar Energy and BSc Biotechnology through CUET 2023.
The candidates who manage to pass the JMI entrance exam are required to fulfil the Jamia Millia Islamia counselling procedure before fixing a seat for the JMI admission 2023.
